This week Rob DiRe and Stan Talouis talk Alabama-LSU, and the best linebacker prospect in the country (but mainly just Reuben Foster). In their “Draft Room” segment, they look at the Lions and Dolphins, and they finish with their November Movie Big Boards. Check out the detailed breakdown of the NFL Draft Podcast below:

Week 10 College Football (0:41)

The week of college football was more or less defined by the Alabama-LSU game, which brought up more conversation about the skill players who didn’t do much than the Crimson Tide defenders who stopped them. They also go through some of the other big matchups with NFL talent, including the Washington defense and two interesting second-tier quarterbacks.

Rookie Report (9:58)

Rob and Stan give a round of applause for Laquon Treadwell, who made his first catch of the season this week and has largely been let off the hook for failing to get on the field because of Jared Goff. They also look at the Saints and Falcons who are getting contributions from rookies on both sides of the ball, as well as highlighting a Cowboy not named Dak Prescott or Ezekiel Elliott.

Position Outlook: Linebackers (15:56)

Trying not to insult other linebackers, Rob fawns over Reuben Foster not only as the best linebacker in this class, but the best he has evaluated in the past few years at the position. He also lists Jarrad Davis as someone deserving a first-round grade and Raekwon McMillan as someone who could end up in round one, as well as a few more linebackers who are underrated.

Draft Room: Falcons and Chargers (28:27)

This week Stan picks the Lions and Rob — still refusing to acknowledge the AFC South as a division — sights and picks the Dolphins. They project forward what team needs will be and compare that to the recent draft history to come up with a few potential prospects they could target in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Big Board: November Movies (38:57)

Without the Big Board for November movies, it is understandable of the listeners don’t know which films to be excited for. However this had to be pushed back because of Halloween and the election. Better late than never here, as Rob and Stan try to walk through the most interesting releases for the month. Not to damper excitement, but hopefully December is better.

The job of an NFL general manager isn’t merely about finalizing the 53-man roster. While Drew Brees is throwing touchdown passes and Robert Quinn is crushing quarterbacks, there are a flurry of decision makers looking to next year’s NFL Draft to see what kind of depth to add behind them and if there are any cheap talent to replace them with.

If they are starting their NFL Draft prep back in August, why would any self-respecting football fan wait until the NFL Combine to get in on the action?

The NFL Draft Podcast here at Today’s Pigskin is meant to get the wheels churning on some of the NFL’s next breakout stars before you sit down to look at your first mock draft sometime in early February. We will be breaking down some of the best draft-eligible prospects, analyzing team fits, and even trying to project team needs down the line.
