The Miami Dolphins will have cornerback Chris Culliver back at practice this week. He tore his ACL last season and had to start this year on the PUP list. Now that the season has progressed past Week Six, the Dolphins are allowed to bring him back. They can decide if they want to add him to the active roster in the next three weeks.
The Dolphins will also get linebacker Zach Vigil back from the non-football injury list, though they still have defensive end Dion Jordan on that list and he’s not coming back just yet.
When asked about the injured players, head coach Adam Gase stressed that they still planned on being careful. He said:
“We’ll have to kind of go about our process, trainers, sports science, kind of that whole crew that we deal with, doctors and we’ll see where it ends up at the end of the week. We’re in no rush for anything. We just want to make sure those guys feel as good as they can before we actually activate anybody.”
That’s especially true for Culliver, coming off of such a serious injury. They’ll now look at him in practice, determine where he’s at, and have a better idea of what he’s going to be able to do this year. Gase also said:
“I think this is going to be really week to week for us at this point with all these guys. You can feel good about one guy thinking we’re way ahead of schedule or we think we’re in good shape and then all of a sudden they go out there and it’s not right.”
